Magnificent pub on the skirts of Williamstown. Clearly an early building with a very modest, himself style. During summer $15 parmas and $20 porterhouse. Wonderful staff and cute beer garden to boot.
Have been going to the Stag's Head for a few years, I don't know if there's been a change in chef but the consistent quality seen over that time wasn't there for the last visit.
I ordered the Parma and was very pleased with the Napoli sauce and stringy cheese on the succulent chicken. The chips that came on the side were a massive let down however, being soggy and undercooked. Overall it was a great meal for $15 though and the staff were friendly and quick.
